Lasagna Date Night

Last night, we had a night in. It was so great! It was Jill’s turn to plan the date, so she decided to make one of my favorite meals. Lasagna and homemade garlic bread, and for desert… turtle cheesecake. And did I mention that she doesn’t like either lasagna or cheesecake? That’s love right there. She did eat it and at least pretended to like both :).

After dinner, we played a game of Cribbage and I think it was the quickest game ever. We both had some really high scoring hands (I had one hand that scored 24 points!), but I came out on top this time. At one point, I dropped a card through a crack in our deck and had to army crawl under the deck to grab the queen of spades. After a quick change of clothes, we were back in action, playing with a full deck.

After our card game, we took Gauge, the dog we are dog sitting for the weekend, for a walk as we watched the sun set. It was a gorgeous evening and we made the most of an evening without our kids and really enjoyed some one on one time with one another.

We capped the night off cuddling up to the Green Bay Packers beating up on the Eagles in a preseason NFL game.
