This weekend was the Perseid Meteor Shower and anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE anything to do with astronomy. Jill suggested that we set up an air mattress and layout under the stars al fresco style. Unfortunately, shortly after expressing the idea to me, she was invited to a girls night out with one of her besties.

So I set everything up whilst she was away. After getting the kids to bed, I blew up the air mattress, pulled out the sleeping bags and pillows and got everything set up. Of course I had to try it out, so I laid down with my adult beverage and stared up at the heavens. Shortly after, Jill called to let me know she was on her way home and two huge meteors lit up the sky while we were talking. Once she was home, we laid there until we fell asleep and didn’t make it back to our room until after 1:00 pm. It was an incredible evening and we saw several amazing meteors.
