What a trip. This vacation had the perfect amount of adventure and relaxation. I mean, how can you have a bad time in Hawaii?
The lovely Jill Klein busted her behind enrolling people with doTERRA memberships last year and earned us a 4 night stay in the fabulous Hilton Waikoloa Village compliments of doTERRA. This place was redic. I can’t image the amount of money that was invested to build this resort. As you’ll find out in the following paragraphs, it has EVERYTHING!
Resort Information
The resort is a huge complex of 3 massive hotels peppered with pools, restaurants and shops, and exquisite art and landscaping. It is so huge, in fact, that they have both a train and a boat that will take you around to the next hotel if you don’t feel like walking through the amazing museum hallway with insane artwork and artifacts from around the world.
We were lucky enough to have a room on the 7th floor of the Palace Tower that overlooked the grassy commons area and the ocean cove below. Not too far from the cove, there was a 4 acre saltwater lagoon that was home to beautiful fish, stingrays, and sea turtles. The water was so clear, you could see the fish and sea animals just walking close to the water’s edge, but if you wanted a closer look, you could rent a paddle board, kayak, hydro bike, or snorkel gear.
As part of the lagoon, about 6 dolphins lived in a cove area of the lagoon and you could pay to get in the water with them. One morning, on our way to breakfast, they had the dolphins out of the back cove and in the main area of the lagoon working with them. We were delighted to sit and watch them for a bit one morning before doTERRA provided us with a buffet style breakfast. On a different morning, as I was walking over a bridge to the breakfast area, I was surprised to see dozens of fish jumping out of the water. I guess they were catching themselves some breakfast too.
Our First Night
Once we checked into our room on the first night at the resort, we headed down to the Kona Tap Room for a couple of beers with our doTERRA Fam. Jill and I always make an effort to watch the sunset while we are on vacation, so we excused our selves to try to find a spot to catch it before it was gone. Along the way, we found some flamingos behind some glass beside an allusive tortoise on display, also behind a glass window. The area we found to watch the sunset was near a restaurant with seaside seating. We arrived just in time to watch the sun dip below the water.
doTERRA was hosting a dinner that night, so once the sun went down, we got cleaned up and ate some amazing salads, mahi mahi, shredded pork, and some delicious juice.
After traveling all day, we were whipped, so we headed to bed to get some rest for the next day’s adventure.
